im going on a date in a few hours but im well skint what should i do should i cancel? ( were only going for a few drinks though)

depends how you think ..................... should he buy the drinks or do you think it should be 50/50 on a first date
if you feel that you just can't sit there with out being able to buy your round phone him he may surprise you by saying the nights on me

Just phone him and tell him you really wanted to see him tonight, but you are skint. Ask him if he'd rather wait till you have some money and then make a date with you. I think it's wrong for a man to expect a girl to pay anyway, but perhaps I'm old fashioned.

More than likely your date is going to assume that you are paying of you did the asking. If you really like this person and you show up and expect them to pay it will look rude. I say don't cancel, go get a drink or two then suggest a walk, that way you look romantic and not cheap.

How well do you know your date? Would she understand if you canceled until the next pay day? Or perhaps you can plead poverty and see if she offers to foot the tab this time out?
Addition: Oh, you're the girl! LOL Well if he did the asking, he'll pay. But if you did the asking, you really should pay. Don't cancel though, simply reschedule.

If you're going to have to end the night early it would be better to cancel or you could tell your date that work has messed up your wages so you will have to have a cheap night!! This might sound better than cancelling, that way your date won't think that you're avoiding them.

a question how long have you been dating .If it is a first date you had better explain quickly dont cancel as if you like this person she might take it as a blow off .Be truthful maybe she can help out this time .Or if you feel eneasy about it better call in a favour .Good luck but the truth always works

go to a cheap bar during happy hour!
Or have her come to your place for some drinks. You will come out only spending about 15 bucks if you go buy a large bottle of Beringers White Ziffandale and hang out dinking.

go buy a six rack from the news agent go to a park with some blankets and have the time there she'll think your romantic when really you only had the money left in the couch

1) Find someone to borrow money from (or go to a "fast cash" store like Money Mart)
2) Go through your junk and sell it at a pawn shop for cash
3) Break into your piggy bank (or coin jar) if you have one
