i have been talking to this guy for almost a year, he says he loves me but we never have went out anywhere. he works all the time and also takes care of his father who has full blown alzheimers. how do i know if he is sincere when he says he loves me or if he is just using me? am i just for convenience? ive asked all these same questions to him and he says no, but im starting to doubt his word.

it sounds to me like he has a pretty hechtic life, so when he's with you, he might want to just relax, not do anything, and hang out! i would give him a break if he treats you decent and be glad that you can be the one he goes to when he wants to have a good time relaxing!!

From what you have wrote, this man loves you more than you realize...please put yourself in his shoes while reading this answer...you say he works all the time and also looks after his father, that alone shows you his heart ''the type of man he is'' be patience with him...he has a lot to deal with...if you love him and want to become closer...ask him questions about his dad...read as much information as you can about Alzheimer s, the time he has left with his father is short...I could go on and on...but I'm sure you know what I've been trying to tell you, just know, to him, its not just him no more...its father and son and time is precious and demanding at this stage of his life.

OK, so he works and has to care for his sick father.
He has very little time and uses what time he has to be with you, what a great guy....and he says he loves you.
so you are asking if he is just using you because he doesnt take you out when he sees you?
ever thought, since your life isnt a full loaded platter like his, that you can suggest places to go instead of waiting for him to say it???

A very easy way to tell is to ignore what he is saying and watch what he's doing. Although he is busy, does he act like a boyfriend? For example, does he take you on dates, does he prioritize time with you? Watch what he's doing, and you'll be able to tell if he's a boyfriend or not. If he isn't acting like a boyfriend, I'd suggest moving on.

Does this man never go out? With anyone?
If he goes out with his friends, but not with you, he's using you.
If he doesn't go out with ANYONE, then he might be using you or might not. You'll have to talk to him some more.
