Last night, I was having problems with my trunk closing on my car. It is a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire. I got in my trunk and I went to close it and it will not latch. It is closing, but not latching. I fiddled with it for close to 45 min. when I had to resolve to tying it down, driving it home and taking out the subwoofer in it for the night. My amp is still in the trunk and I can't even drive it 2 miles without the trunk flying back open. I am going to be dealing with this issue in a few hours, so I hope someone sees my question and responds.

The latch is a fairly simple mechanical device - it is just an arm that closes over a striker. It may be closed already, or stuck open. You'll have to determine if it's open or closed and make a determination on how to proceed. I can't tell from here... ;)

Stuck cable? from the driver seat to trunk? If possable work with it using Vise Grips.
