It really shouldn't make you gain any weight and in most of the things i have read it says to eat peanut butter at least once a day.

Oddly enough, yes. I was on a practically fat-free diet for 3 years, and the slightest bit of fat would make me gain. I didn't understand it, but the doctor said it was because my body was starving for fats since that's converted to energy. Without that your body goes into starvation mode trying to hoard as much energy as it can.
So I started eating things like cheese, cream sauces, hamburgers again, and lost 40 pounds in 3 months.

you really should have a decent amount of fat in your diet. there are fats that are good for you, like almonds, walnuts and avocado. Peanut butter is also a pretty good choice - high in protien.

peanut oil is a mono-unsaturated fat. You must have some fat in your diet. there are vitamins you must have that are only soluble in fat.
