Whatever you do, do not have a stylist thin it out. It grows back even more. I had my hair thinned out and after a few months I thought it was even more bushier. I just use a straightner now. It makes it look thinner and shinier. This can damage your hair but I treat my hair once a week w/ a mayonnaise treatment w/ a warm towel for about an hour or blend the avocado w/ olive oil. My hair feels great.

There is no such thing as "reverse genetics." You inherited that hair from someone. The thing is that there are more people in your genetic "family" than your immediates. My parents had brown hair. I was born with red. I have uncles and great grandparents and cousins that have/had red hair. In any case, I am not too sure what you are worried about. Most people would kill to have thick, curly hair. Why would you want to thin it out? Style it, sure! Thin it? Ugh! Why!?

Girl I'm in the same boat as you...The best advice is to get some really good shampoo so its easier to comb out. I I get heavy leave in condition to weigh my hair down. I also press and flat iron my hair and that does miracles with it lasting a longer than just flat ironing. I also deep condition every two weeks because the heat can damage your hair. Also, I always think positve that my thick hair is good because when i'm stressed, my hair falls out and no one notices as oppose to my cousin that you can see bald spots. As we get older our hair gets thinner so I guess we have a positive outlook on it....tell me what works good for you....

Try flat ironing it, hold combing it, or a perm.
