Spanish has the easiest pronunciation and grammar.
German is pretty similar to English though.
Japanese would be TOTALLY new.

In my humble opinion, between these three languages I think that Japanese would be the most difficult to learn because it uses a completely different alphabet and spelling than English. Left with deciding between German and Spanish, I would have to say that Spanish might be a little easier, although there are a lot more verb tenses to learn than with English and German. The best thing that I could suggest to you would be to make your decision, take a preparatory course, and go to live in a country where the language you have chosen is spoken. Full immersion is the best, but not the only way to learn another language. I am a native English speaker who lives in Mexico and teaches English as a Foreign Language. Good luck.

Which of these three languages do you like the best?
If you love something it's easy to learn it! So, choose your favorite, is my advice.
Most folks here say Spanish and I agree, but German wouldn't be that difficult either since English is your first language, although the German grammar might be a little bit more complicated. Japanese is different from the others as you know, but I am sure there should be more Americans who know it. I wish I did myself. :)

I'd say German's the easiest one for native English speakers 'cause both languages are of the same origin.
BUT... I'd recommend learning Japanese for the following reasons:
- It's completely different from any western languages, It's cool to learn something so different
- It's one of the EASIEST to learn of all East Asian languages, Chinese being the hardest
- The pronouciation is rather simple! Once you've learned the sorta alphabet and the phonetics, you will be able to pronouce anything
- There are 3000 frequently used Chinese words/characters in japanese language. Those are tough to learn to pronouce and write. However, it's way cool to be able to write a language so beautiful.. just like art... if you're advanced enough, you could even learn caligraphy.. It's the best way to admire the beauty of the chinese/japanese characters. It's also considered a form of meditation.
- Japan is a great country to visit! always a plus!
Hope this helps!

Seeing that English is a descendant from the Germanic languages, German is the easiest and closest when it comes to vocabulary. It is easy to understand especially if you really mastered English. So learning German will be the quickest for you.
Spanish being a Romance language may be quite different from English, but it still shares similarity in some vocabulary, so i would vote that second best.
As for Japanese, it is not only a non- european language (i'm not sure if yourn't as well), but it is also different in almost everything, grammar spelling and even in the alphabet!
In conclusion; Japanese would be third (but i'd advocate Japanese if you tend to work as a translator, or tend to live in Japan).
So see what's best for you and go for it!
Off federzen!
adious!
and Saionarah!
p.s. (i'm not sure of he spelling of either of these expressions!oops!)

I think the easiest one is German.Spanish isnt that easy, even if u always know how to pronounce the words, the spelling of the verbs change [sometimes a lot] from present to past, in the pronouns (we,you, they). In Spanish, there are a lot of words for one thing, and different meanings when you change a letter in a word. Its a rich language and takes a lot of time to learn it.
Good Luck in your choice

I think that Russian is the hardest. German is also a bit hard to learn, because there are many rules of grammatic. For learning Italian I took 6 months, but there are people who say, that it is a difficult language. I don't think so, but I don't know how would it be for you. If I were in you I would take Spanish, Italian or French.

Spanish is the easiest, and since Spanish is a highly spoken language in the U. S., you might want to learn it.

i think spanish becase the words sometmies seem simular just with an accent and sometimes are very simularly spelled.
A lot of times the ending of the words are different. Just look up the translations. Besides German and japanese most of their wordas you can't even try to make out.
