It's nice as a treat and is more stimulating for their minds than seed from the pot. However, most cockatiel seed mixes have different types of millet seed in anyway.

Personally, I would opt for a cockatiel/parakeet specific food such as Kaytee Exact or Pretty Bird. There's better nutrition in it. It's a bit more expensive but there is less wastage and the bird's dietary needs are fully covered. Then pop in a millet spray frmo time to time as a treat.

no millet spray is just a treat i put it in my cage now and again so they have got something to do as a treat they should not have it all the time as they will eat the millet instead of their food so they will not get all their nutrients which are supplied in their food.

i would say put it in once a week to once a fortnight for something for your bird to do.

good luck

its for a treat they will leave all other food for millet and it can be fattening.try giving it piece of apple or lettuce as well as treat.they make a mess with millet so i used to cut it in two and put one piece at a time on cage florr not under perch or it will get poo on!

a treat would be nice, but a millet would drive them crazy!the millet is like cat nip for a cat you know.and once they get the millet they cant stop!i got 3 cockateils and i give them millet every once in awhile.and they absolutely go nuts!
