Caffeine in coffee is great for helping to lose weight. Its the cream and sugar that's not good.

Hi,
I specialize in helping people lose weight via a detox programme.
From my years of experience in the natural health arena... you shouldnt be drinking coffee whether you ARE trying or NOT trying to lose weight as caffeine is not very good for our health.. especially our kidneys.
Anyway, are you trying to lose weight?
Personally, I am not so much for slimming centres because the fastest way I know to lose weight is through a detox. I myself lost 15kg and dropped from XL to a S size within 2 mths.
And the detox is simple. All you need to do is three things.
Number one, follow the detox programme which requires you to change your diet a little bit. Eg, take more vege and less meat and seafoods.
Number two, use 1 minute a day to take some natural health foods consumable even by babies and pregnant women that will enhance the speed and the effect of the detox.
Number three, drink lots of water to flush the toxins out and help your body start to accept water.
And that's it.
The rest is up to you.
So what do you think? ;)
If you are keen, you can email me at verityy@yahoo.com.

No it will actually help with the weight lose, thats if you only drink straight black coffee or tea without sugar and a tiny bit of milk. The caffeine stimulations the cells in your body and you can burn up to 20 extra calories.

Doesn't make sense to me. Coffee has a) no calories, b) caffeine and c) a diuretic effect.
Weightwatchers a loooong time ago used to recommend drinking 2 cups a day. Having no calories, you can have it as a treat (with sugarfree sweetener, if needed and/ or skim milk). When restricting calories, we sometimes feel a little drop in energy, due to not loading our bloodstream with constant "sugar fixes" and caffeine can help make you temporarily more alert. Lastly, if trying to lose "water weight," the diuretic effect increases urination (remember to "flush" with drinking plenty of water--at least 8 glasses a day).

If you don't load it up with milk and sugar, it will not have a negative effect. It's all the other stuff we eat thats the issue.
If all you consumed was coffee, you'd really lose weight! But I wouldn't recommend that.

Actually, coffee helps you lose weight. However, only when it's taken black. Adding milk, sugar negates any positive effects. Stay away from S-bucks!! Many calories!

actually coffee, without excess sugar and fat, works as a laxative and can help you lose weight. But if you drink those big starbucks frappaccinos then you will gain weight.
