If they reinstituted the draft, I would probably just join up rather than be drafted. I'm too old now. I tried for the Air Force Medi-Vac Unit years ago but I had back surgery so they wouldn't take me.

Draft dodgers have the right to "dodge" off to Canada like they did during Vietnam, however, they should not be allowed back here afterwards, and they should lose their US citizenship. Stay in Canada. I never understood why they were allowed back in after Vietnam to take up their old lives and benefit from the freedoms they were not willing to fight for, while the boys who fought were not welcomed back well, spit upon, etc. Some of these kids didn't agree with the war but they went and did their duty. The others were just cowards as far as I'm concerned. AND, a draft dodging man was elected president. Go figure.

I have already served my 20 years, but if I had not I would serve. You have been given the privilege of being a citizen of the USA. The least you can do is serve when called, no matter your personal feelings. I feel that if a person leaves the country to avoid the draft his citizenship should be revoked.

It depends who's in charge.

I wanted a chance to defend my country, and was rejected by all four parts of the military. That was before the hawks started crowing.

If some idiot wanted to force political correctness on the third world, I'd probably fight for freedom against my country, just as my German ancestors fought for the US against their cousins.

I now see my friends supporting anything their leader does, and I now no longer blame the Germans for following Hitler or the Soviets for following Stalin or the Southerners or the Iraqis who supported Hussein... I also understand why the Chinese so blindly follow their leader.

Lets just all fight until we're all dead right? Is it better to die for the ideals of old men and women than admit that your country may be wrong?

I think they should draft the hawks first. Anyone who is pro-war should be put on the front line... maybe make that a UN directive.

I wouldn't let myself be drafted for a war like Iraq, or another false flag war in Iran. If the a sitution similar to WW2 arised...i would volunteer.

Avoid only for the fact that this is going to be another false-flag war. No offense to the ones who are serving now, but I'm not going to fight for something that's unconstitutional.

the only draft acceptable is one against al-quieda after all they did 9-11(not Iraq).

I don't need to avoid .. I have diabetes. One time I'm actually thankful for it. But ... otherwise I would try to avoid it, Canada here I come.

Probably not, even if it's not a war I believe in. I have to uphold my duty.
