I would be interested in what priniples you are refering to?

Everything that exists now in marriage and sexuality has existed always and will always exist in the future. Things change, people do not. So my return question is when did people live by these prinicples to begin with? and also why should they live by those principles? Other cultures have incorporated sexuality an marriage issues into their cultures in much more enlightened ways than western civilization. Listen I know your probably young and have been indoctrinated into bible believing christianity but there are many other cultures and beliefs in this world and if you really want to be enlightened than I suggest you begin to look into some of them. What you find may surprise you not only about what they believe but also where your personal beliefs were actually derived from and why it was really a social not spiritual reason to implore such strict laws regarding marriage and morality.

Gawd. Okay.. there's always, always **** you know.. It's like this energy in the world that can't be erased.. It's just that now, it's a lot more open. Like you see many couples getting a divorce, many women having abortions, people having pre-marital sex.. etc. But I really, really think it has always existed.. Look at Jesus' time.. there were so many people getting stoned and all that. And for what? Things that are not that outrageous now, like stealing and adultery now. Do we stone people now? In many countries, the death penalty's still illegal. Do we crucify people? You have to understood that even if there are more sinful acts related to marriage or whatever, some good stuff has also developed... like women having freedom and stuff. There will always be good and bad in the world... it just comes in different forms. You know, the world is not as simple you make it sound.. many humans are just too complicated for that Bible of yours.
Oh and you forget that not all the world is Christian. What happens to countries like India, where the majority of the population is Hindu? How have they been ignoring your beloved Bible principles... they never had it in the first place.
Don't just assume that Christianity is the basis of everything or that it should be.

Having more divorces, people marrying because if they don't like something, instead of working it out they can divorce and start over, Single moms by choice, people living together, and thinking this is all okay because people accept this even though it is against the Bible. Our children are growing up to become unwed parents, rude and expecting everything now no matter how they GeT it including intimate relations with someone. There are things happening that people never would have thought could ever happen. I pray all the time for the children.

Regarding ignoring the principle of morality, we can see it all over the place: STDs, heartache, the downfall of society, etc., leading to misery. Of course sex is fun, of course it feels good...DUH! He wants us to want to have it and be "one" with our marital partners, or else we wouldn't have children. How can God be glorified with an empty Earth?! He knows that the decline of morality will lead us to deeper and deeper sins and eventually to the fall of this world, which is His Footstool. Can't you see it happening all around you?

The results of ignoring principles regarding marriage (and divorce) are the same. People who refuse to marry or have children are selfish and are not glorifying God. The commandment given to Adam and Eve to multiply was meant to give glory to God, as He wants us to raise children to glorify Him. Unfortunately, some religions claim certain members to be "married to Christ" or to take a vow of celebacy. This is a practice created by man and is one of the biggest sins of all, as they are purposely going against what God has commanded and they are not glorifying Him because they are not following his command by raising children "up unto" Him. Yet, ironically, people refer to these people as some of the holiest people of all the earth. Go figure.

Also, the Lord says divorce is wrong, as it forces the people involved to "commit adultery", (mentioned many times in the New Testament) by making them go and find other marriage partners while their original ones are still living. This life is all about growth and glorifying The Father and having eternal joy. The first great commandment (New Testament) is to love The Father; the second great commandment is "like unto it": to love our neighbors as much as we love ourselves. We need to learn to love our spouses and glorify The Father in our marriages.

The Lord was dead serious when he gave these commands. We need to follow them by living moral lives and having happy marriages and families to bring Him glory "lest the whole earth should be smitten with a curse".

That will be the result! Immorality, selfishness and disobedience to God's commands has been happening since time began and it will keep happening, and do you really see any lasting joy coming from it?!?!

The rise of emo bands.

Since marriage is on the decline, bands like Panic! At the Disco and Fall Out Boy are on the rise. Clearly this is due to the erosion of "family values."

Also, McRibs have been taken off the menu at McDonalds. I think there's a relationship there too!

Less men take as many women as they can afford to be their wives now...so I guess we have progressed from Bible "morality" to something a bit more civilised.

Well to start with, people are more free to choose a life more inline with what is intended for them. Also, MOST of what is said by religious leaders is not really in the bible. Usually, when someone is preaching against this or that behavior, the scripture they are quoting is being taken out of context or blantantly misapplied.

Often at the heart of criminal and delinquent behavior you will find a broken home. I'm not saying criminals never come from good, strong families (that can and does happen) but statistically speaking - there's an overwhelming rate of broken homes in the picture.

This has led me to the conclusion that I can do more good for society by honoring my marital vows and my family relationships than I could ever do on some senate floor or seat of power.

A more tolerant, accepting, and loving society that has decided that it would be better not to adhere to the rules set forth by sexist Bronze-Age tribesmen.

Culture and morals evolve.
Those who place their trust in an outdated book full of myths do not.
