I love reading children's books. They are so cute and entertaining and informative and wonderful and and and ( I thought all those ands where just funny). I would love to write children's books and I am wondering with all the competition and selection, what could help me sell and get started in this field.

What would I have to do for you to purchase my children's books? I thought of being on Oprah but I would like some more ideas.

I've been picking out fun books and the classics, like Dr. Seuss and some Winnie the Pooh books for my nursery. While browsing at the library the other day, I found that there are MANY types of children's books and that it can be a competitive field to get into (all writing is, and I should know because I've always wanted to be a novelist) but what caught my eyes were books with colorful, attractive illustrations. The books I ended up enjoying were books that taught a little moral, were funny, and were repetitive. I read to my 4 year old niece and I like books that repeat certain phrases so she can also "read" along with me.

Well, first of all it has to be original and kids have to understand it and like the characters in the book. Also, your books should all have an overall message to kids, for example, don't talk to strangers. Make sure it's very colorful and im sure people will buy it.
