Surely then you'd be fine with killing people who worked on the Sabbath? If the Bible is your source of morality, then that, blasphemy and children cursing parents would come in the same as murder in terms of punishment. As would worshipping false Gods.

Morality is a fictional term to control people and their personal lives. I for one would never be able to judge another on my own personal morals. I don't agree with abortion personally, but I would never judge anyone who has one. I just don't have abortions.

I'm a Christian, but do not believe that morality comes only from the Bible. How could it? Morality is not something you get out of a book. A person can read the Bible from sunup to sundown and still not be moral. Plus, if I really believed that, how would I explain the good morals displayed by my atheist and/or non-Christian friends?

If God truly created us then His governing rules would be the best to adhere to and follow, detailed in the Bible - we can live life to the fullest if we value what God values.

Of course, as human beings, we redefine "morality" through created concepts we value and redefine "truth".

My source of morality comes from the Bible but you must understand the theocracy of the Israelite nation described in the Old Testament and Mosiac Law does not pertain to the Christian except for the teacher it was meant to be.

Galatians 5:14 For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."

Romans 13:8 Owe nothing to anyone-- except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God's law.

We desire to submit to this theology instructed to the Christian in the New Testament because of an understanding of the grace and love God's shown us. With gratitude in our hearts for the gift He's given, following simply enables us to live the abundant life He's already promised - not yet in the physical realm but definitely in heart and mind.

This is what is called WISDOM.

You cannot interpret the Bible when you are obviously against it...

Jesus taught us to love God with all our heart, mind, body and soul. Also, to love our neighbor as ourself. That has about all the morality you may want or need to know.
