I just like being, not being labelled as anything. I don't even like shirts with a visible corporate label on them. It's just showy-offy.

Sometimes, labeling is necessary. People get upset about labeling, but imagine going to a grocery store where none of the products were labeled. You might be getting a can of peas, or a can of sliced pineapple. Without a label, who knows? Same with religion. I'm a Catholic. It's a label. But a church that is labeled Catholic lets me know that I'm among people who share my beliefs. Now, as an Italian-American, I've suffered through plenty of bad labels. Can't count all the times I've been called a "wop", "guinea" or "dago". But despite that, sometimes, labels are still needed. They're a fact of life, and a very necessary one.

Well this is something I'm working on because I, just like everyone else have been labeled and judged my entire life by family, friends, even strangers. I used to take it so personally and believe a lot of what people said about me.

Now I am starting to get that I am the only person in this whole world who can define me. No one else not my mother, my friend, my boyfriend. Only me and I am happy to do so, because if you don't define who you are, how will you know? You won't and then you'll find yourself being lost and confused when others rush to do so.

So now when people say something about me, I'm starting to say to myself, it's not my business what they think about me, and I know who I am, it's my job to tell them who I am, not the other way around.

So if you get angry about it, just try to let it go, because if you get upset with their labels, the only thing you're telling those people is that what they are saying about you is true. Brush it off and have no reaction, and they will not be able to get to you, as long as you know who you are, forget what anyone else has to say. Eventually they'll get it and will leave you alone.

I don't like labels. Just because one may think I am closely "defined" by a label doesn't mean I fit it exactly. Whether it be religion, sexuality, even dealing with Politics.. nothing is really what it seems

Mibandibee..how can you talk about Jesus and all that stuff and then you say you aren't religious. Christianity is a religion..

Depends on who is doing the labelling. If it is someone who is obivously very ignorant on the subject; yes, that bothers me. I find ignorant people the worst of their kind. They act like they know it all, yet they know nothing - obviously if they are ignorant. Labelling is typically made by "those" people. I don't think it's fair, but guess what - that is the way of the world. I guess it would be a boring world if people didn't find faults with one another. The question is, are you strong enough to stand up against it?!

I choose to label myself with regards to my spirituality, but that's only so that others can have an idea of where I'm coming from without me going into detail. When I say "Pagan, with strong Wiccan influence" it gives a framework for reference.

I don't feel the need to have a specific label for everything in my life - I don't believe that everything has to be put into its own little neat box. With regards to religion, I think there are some folks who get so hung up on LABELING their beliefs that they miss out on LIVING them.

I don't mind it as long as I'm the one labeling myself...the only problem is some people do not understand what a certain label might mean.

I don't approve of labels, religious or otherwise.
There are entirely too many variables for anybody to fit into any of them. I'm much too complicated to be labeled as anything.
Whatever labels anyone wants to try to put on me are their problem and not mine.

No, I am not happy being labeled or judged by looks, smarts or race. I prefer that we all just get along and like each other for whom we are inside.
