Our local Asda stock pistachio- it is an Indian Kulfi ice-cream but as an ice cream fan I can tell you that it tastes just the same as good pistachio ice cream. I wonder why other supermarkets don't stock so many flavours- in the USA they have a whole aisle for ice cream and every type of flavour!

You may have to make it yourself. It's pretty easy. You need just milk, half-&-half, sugar, whipping cream, vanilla flavoring and pistachio flavoring concentrate. I made a few buckets of ice cream years ago. My favorite was flavored with cocnut and orange juice. It was dreamy. Search the web for ice cream recipes and how to make it. You cook the above ingredients, then freeze them while churning the whole mixture in a motorized churn. It takes about an hour or so, but what you get is pure and natural ice cream, not the mass-produced stuff you buy at the grocery store.

I haven't seen it sold as regular ice cream in the supermarket, but lots of Indian restaurants sell pistachio kulfi, which is an Indian ice cream. Ask in a local restaurant.

Marine Ices, Chalk Farm, London - right opposite Chalk Farm underground station. I think it's either at the end of Haverstock Hill or the start of Chalk Farm Road - either way they're all the same road anyway. Postcode (1st part!) N.W.3.
When I was younger on a Sunday afternoon I used to drive there and buy a tub of pistachio and a tub of chocolate ice cream, then drive to a disused car park and scoff the lot myself ! ! !

Are there any Haagen Dazs outlets near you? (I know there's one in Leicester Square in London)? They do pistachio and sell ice cream by the tub as well as scoop/cup. They sell the same pistachio in the US (and Caribbean) in supermarkets.

I would say that Cold Stone has cornered the market on that flavor, and most others. I love it with marshmallow creme & pecans blended in. Yummy! Great, now I want some ice cream, thanks a lot!
