Just to give you some input. You did not mention what type of wax you are using so I will just tell you what I do.

I use 100% soy wax. No additives. I really don't pay much attention to the temperature because I have a melting pot that I set to warm and that is good enough. I think it may be around 170 degrees. I add the scent first and stir that in well about 1 minute. I put about 1 to 1 1/2 ounces (by weight) of scent per pound of wax. Be sure to weight your scent and not just measure it out. Scents have different weights so different ones won't be the same by volume. When I see that it has fully mixed in, then I add the color. I use chips and add about 1 1/2 chips per 1 lb of wax.

Also, I don't know if you know this but 1 lb of melted wax is approx. 18 ounces. The amount you are using as a "pound" could change the amount of scent and color you use.

You really need to go by the type of wax you are using as to what the melting points are etc. You could probably contact the place you got the wax from and they could give you that info.

You could check these guys out. They are always more than willing to answer questions and if they can't, they will always point you in the right direction.
