Amy M is right, you need to ask for your ends to be point cut to give a wispy/broken up look. Best thing is to take the picture though, as another persons idea could be completely different to your idea!! If you take a picture there can't be any misunderstandings!

Ask your stylist to point cut or chip your ends. Tell her/him you want the ends to look wispy. Better yet, bring in that picture.

maybe layered? the scissors probably cut in a vertical position instead of horizantal.
