We are not a couple... I met him in early January. He actually came by my place on 2/13--we watched a DVD and kissed throughout the movie!! I kind of thought we were moving in the direction of at least becoming good friends or hopefully even transitioning into a committed relationship one day.

So you can imagine my surprise when the next day, not so much as a call or even a text message wishing me a Happy Valentine's Day.

My initial reaction is that I should never speak to him again because all men should know that, even if there won't be an elaborate date, we'd at least like a simple phone call.

What should I do? Break off all communication? Confront him? What?

the not being a couple and kissing throughout the movie thing kind of throws me off, but really, if you're already kissing him and such, why should he bother getting into a relationship with you? He's already getting benifits without so much as an agreement to be your boyfriend.

I'd suggest talking (not confronting exactly) but just talking with him and find out if he's actually interested in having a relationship, or if he was just playing you to get what he wanted.

Maybe he thinks it's too soon to go down that route. Making out doesn't make you a couple.

I don't think you should break up with or stop all communication. Keep going out with him, and see what happens. Maybe he's not the romantic type of guy, and doesn't believe in V-day. I think you should do some investigation before you confront him. You just met the guy a month ago!!!!

I don't think you should break off all communication. Some guys just don't celebrate certain holidays. My fiance refuses to celebrate Sweetest Day. Maybe he didn't think it was a big deal to you. Did you guys talk about it when you hung out the day before. Plus, it doesn't really sound like you two are serious about a relationship right now. I'd say he figured he didn't have to call because your not his girlfriend, or he just forgot.

Well how come u didn't call him on V-day. Sometimes you can't expect guys to do things I believe they need a little guidance. Don't be to upset and if you feel like talking to him about it then you should. I wouldn't make this incident a deal breaker.

Well, I would say to call him and tell him whats on your mind. Also, you really don't have to trip about him buying you nothing on Valentines Day, maybe he will make it up to you. Maybe he don't really know what he want with you yet. So give him sometime for his confession I say about at the most seven days.

you should probably... get a life! valentine's day is a stupid commercial holiday. imo, you don't need a special day to let somebody know how u feel about them.
a/w, you're not a couple as you said, and even if you were, you just got together oh the 13th! for Christ's sake, that's like... one day before v-day!
and about never speaking to him again... really? I mean, isn't that a bit too much?!

You should ask him what the kissing meant to him and tell him how you feel about him not calling on you on V-Day.

Perhaps this guy didn't think you were a couple. Anyway, you could give him a chance to explain things.
