Ok please no mean answers, I just need to ask some stuff. I have had a very distorted image of myself for years and I just don't know anymore. I currently weight 138 pounds and i am about 5'3. I wear a size 7 in pants and either a small or medium in shirts, but everywhere I look it says i should be aout 125 pounds. I used to weight 175 pounds and over the past 2 yrs have lost it all... am I considered fat? I mean people hold weight in different places so I am just looking for clarification.

Well, actually if you are 5ft3, you can weigh up to 140lb depending on your frame size and amount of muscle mass you have. And you are only a size 7, so you seem pretty slim still. Put it this way, I'm 5ft2 and if I weighed 140lb, I'd be a size 12-14.

Also, if you tend to store most of your fat around your bust, hips and thighs, it is much more healthy than if you store it around the middle. You can check your waist/hip ratio by dividing your waist measurement in inches by your hip measurement in inches. If this is below 0.8, this is considered very healthy and puts you at a lower risk from heart disease and diabetes than a woman with a waist/hip ratio of above 0.8.

You can also have your body fat percentage checked if you are still not sure. For a female, between 18%-32% body fat is pretty normal and healthy, although below 27%-28% body fat is probably best for optimal health/fitness for a female.

HTH : )

Honestly you are not fat... people shouldn't even go by what the scales say... you should go by what your waist says. If you take a tape meausre wrap it around and see how many inches around you are. The fat lining in your stomach is the most dangerous to your health, Women should be no more than 34-35 inches. There is a book called "you on a diet" that goes into that more if you want to get it. its on Oprah's best selling and its written by Dr. OZ. So again you are not fat. If you feel good about your self and you feel healthy then you are! Have a great day.

Eat only when hungry and not more than three times a day unless u r diabetic. Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.

No, you probably aren't fat. People have different perceptions of what "fat" is.....My girlfriend is about 5'2" 145 and she isn't fat, she has an thick athletic body type. Everyone has fat on them....women especially need to have fat on their bodies. Be comfortable with yourself...you don't NEED to weigh what people say you need to weigh. As long as you are happy & healthy that is all that matters!!!

i wouldnt really consider it overweight. how old are you? i mean, if you're 13 then yes, its probalby over weight. but i mean, if you have giant boobs then you're going to weigh more than some one who's your height and flat chested? ya know? and muscle weighs more than fat, so even if you're extreamly toned and built nicely, you could weigh more but look better than someone who had NO muscle but weighed that much.

do you feel healthy? i understand your image problem. i've always been the same way. you just dont see what other people see.

The hardest lesson in life to learn is Do not worry about what other people think!! Sounds like you already lost weight, you don't need clarification from us, just believe in yourself.

You are fat only if you believe it to be so. By your thoughts you are creating who you are, when you explained your size you sound perfect, don't judge yourself based on others opinion, you are a perfect creation, a creation you are creating, get it, you are what you believe. Start focusing on your best qualities and soon you too will realize how amazing you are and things will start to happen, good things.

i wouldn't call you fat if you are wearing a pair of size 7 jeans. you might look bigger if you have large breasts, smaller waist with bigger behind. you will look bigger if you have shorter legs too.

so you aren't definitely not fat, just average.

Have your bodyfat percentage taken. If you are over 22% you are fat.
