When You go to war, you are a weapon used by your squadron leader, the General, the President, and then your Country. You have submitted yourself under the leadership, and so you follow what your leaders tell you. If you believe in God, then you will have chosen a leader that also believes in God, and God is leading him. Then you are fighting for what you believe in also.
The ones you are fighting against have also submitted themselves under their leader. Who follows their own "God". Obviously that leader does not believe in the same God, otherwise the two nations would be abiding in harmony.
Now it is up to you and your comrades to fight for what you believe, so that the leader and the nation who believes in God prevails, and the World becomes a better place, due to the injustice that has been put to death.
Now to your question:
If you kill people of the same faith as you, but fighting for the other side, then they are decieved, and will always be fighting for the wrong side (that is of course if you are on the right side).
So. In conclusion:
Whatever country believes in Your God, fight for them, and you will be fighting for your God and what you believe in.

If it is a war what would it matter? And would the people trying to kill you feel the same way? I think almost anyone, given the option of kill or be killed, would be quick to pull the trigger.

If I was sent to war with no choice (especially THIS war), I would defect. If I didn't have that option, I would either refuse to fight or shoot myself in the head. I won't kill unless it's justified, and wars like this certainly are not.

in Islam, Qur'an warned us that there is a severe penalty if a Muslim tries to harm another.
+ if a Muslim kills innocents(any innocents), spreading fear and death, will go straight to hell.
because Islam taught us that Human life is too valuable, so that we have no rights to end it.GOD only can.
