Divinity has been around since people looked up at the night sky and wondered about the stars, or where babies came from, or anything like that. It just wasn't until the last eyeblink that we started trying to put Divinity into a box and fighting over It. In the Beginning, I'm sure it started out with various native spirits, your food source, your water source, fire, the sun, the moon, the stars, etc. It wasn't until we started looking at Divinity as "one of us, but Better" that we started trying to make people worship it like "we" do.

Because reading and writing has only been around for the last 3 or 4 thousand years. And this is when humans started keeping any kind of records of their religious beliefs. So that is why it has seemed like God has only been around that long. In my opinion, he was always there, nobody wrote anything down.

Funnily enough he appeared at the same time (about 8000 years ago) as the last mutation of a gene called ASPM which controls human brain growth, so belief in God has coincided with an increase in human brain size. Development of higher order reasoning capabilities has therefore coincided with development of belief in a higher power.

Since you believe in millions of years of human history, then you have to believe that God has been involved for longer than the blink of an eye.

Throughout human history, God has always been here, he never did just pop out of no where. You really need to read your bible if you have one.
