Try putting the lovey-dovey comments on his other, "non-professional", non-work-related page and see his reaction. If he still takes them down, then, yes, I think he IS trying to hide the fact that he is your boyfriend from the world. In which case, consider dumping him -- but only after asking him point-blank why he is behaving this way. Don't jump to rash conclusions -- find out for sure whether or not he is actually hiding you from his friends before you take any action.
Of course, there is the possibility that the real reason he is hiding you from his friends is that he knows that they're liable to try and steal you away from him, just like that guy did to Justin Timberlake in the "What Goes Around...Comes Around" video. More so if you look anything as good as Scarlett Johannson did :)
Good luck!

I would just leave him alone. Don't comment him, don't talk him, FORGET HIM. If he is trying to hide you, then he really aint thinking of you as a girlfriend. Let him go about his way, and let him learn the hard way. Do not let this man keep you as his secret that's not right. You deserve someone that will be proud of you, and want the world to know your his girl. He also might have other females, and dont want them to see you and know that he is with someone. So you better let him go before you get hurt. Good Luck Sweetie.

He may be afraid that you'll be more attractive and popular than he is. However, if a girlfriend did the same to me and denied my existence online, giving others the impression that she was single, I'd be pretty p*ssed off. He should be proud to let others know he's in a relationship with you. It shouldn't damage his ambitions or his image, unless he's after attracting single women. I know I'd become a little childish & I'd write my own profile as if I was single too, and see how he likes it.

Okay first of all are you dating this guy? If you are, you need to ask him what his problem is, and start looking for someone new. That is not right for him to do that. If he isn't willing to admit he likes you then he's not worth it. If your just friends with him, then don't be friends with him. If he doesn't let you leave nice comments, ask him why he lets all his other friends leave comments, especially if your his girlfriend. He sounds like a piece of crap. Sorry but its true. Hope everything works out for you.

Sounds like he's trying to hide the fact that he's attached. Or he's trying to look "cool," and thinks that you might ruin that image - of course, this line of thinking is moronic, but some people are really vain.
Honestly, it sounds like he's being a creep. I say confront him face-to-face or over the phone, and if you don't get a satisfactory answer, dump him.
After all, if he's going to pretend that you don't exist, then he obviously doesn't deserve to be with you.

Choose one of the following:
1) He is embarrased of you
2) He doesn't want it to seem like he has a girlfriend to make him seem 'available' to others. This is something some famous people do for attention
3) He is being a d*ck
To be honest, I would dump him no matter which of the above you pick.

Perhaps he's ashamed of you and he doens't want other people to know about you. Perhaps he has had enough of you and he wants to live a lonely life. Confront him. Ask him about all these. And remind him of the saying "what goes around comes around".

I'd guess you're either too hot for public view and he's afraid he'll lose you, or he cringes at the idea that anyone would know he was dating you...for the opposite reason. You call it!

That sounds really shady. It would be one thing if he deleted other people's comments that were flirty, but if you are supposed to be his girlfriend and he only deletes your comments, I'd start making NEW FRIENDS online, if you know what I mean.

he may be married or involved with someone, and doesn't want them to see u. if he removed u he isn't too serious about a relationship with u. it means maybe u need to look at it for what it is.
