The clear coat finish has alot to do with it. Most new cars are able to get a good shiney finish though.
They have to be clean, thats the most important thing- than a carnuba wax works fine- clean more important (use clay if you have to) a rotary buffer adds to the shine.

I use Meguires Deep Crystal or Deep Polish wax, you can buy it at Wal-Mart, Auto Zone, or O'reilys
it comes in a dark red bottle or maroon colored

I use Wizards Paint Sealant. Goes on easy, comes off easy, shines great, and lasts a long time. Touch ups get Wizards Auto detailer.

Go to your local auto store and find a wax. I would name some brands but it really doesn't matter everyone has their own fav. brand. If you use wax fallow the directions.

mothers wax or go to a tool store and buy a buffer and polising compound and you ride will shine buffing your car will give that shine back
**note wash car be4 you buff it also dont stay in one spot to long will digg in finish
