the dog bone is 5 ft south of the tie off point, the dog is 15 ft north of the tie off point, so the dog has an extra 10 ft to get the bone

you are only looking at the radius (15 ft) of the chain but the dog can travel the diameter (30 ft)

Chew through the leash?

Is the bone 20 feet away from where the leash is anchored or 20 feet away from where the dog is standing when at the end of the leash? Damn, I wish I could draw a diagram! Okay, going left to right, if the dog is at the end of its leash and the leash is anchored 15 feet away, the bone could be 20 feet from the dog, but only 5 feet from the anchor, meaning the dog can get to it and still have 10 feet of leash to spare.

Please let us know what the right answer is - riddles drive me nuts, too!

Just because the leash is 15 ft long, it doesn't mean he is tied 20 ft away. The leash could be only 5 or 10 feet away from the bone.

The dog sits and stares at it till my boyfriend comes along and gives the dog the bone. Is what my dog does, he stares at where his dog bones are and my boyfriend automatically gets him one.
