Because that is a challenge for some guys, and they usually will keep doing it just for the conquest of it. You have to cut down their ego and say something like, "not interested", and u need to walk away. That lets them know not to bother with u, and they will move on to someone else.

yea right, dudes don't want to admit it but when u blow um off there damn pride is holding them in. Easiest analogy is like a person trying to get the last word. U REJECTED him, and that sucks especially if other wankers r around noticing the event.
as far as just putting out that vibe, whatever. Don't go out to the club in tube top, 6" mini and f-me pumps thinkin that the pissed look on ur face is going to stop some dude from wanting to get w/ you. & if your that hot ENJOY ther attention and just say no cause the next question on the list is a girl that never gets asked for a number!!!!!
