They probably have no idea that you can hear them. You might want to think about just telling her "Sorry to bother you, but my wife and I are light sleepers. Do you think you could try to be more quiet after 11 PM? We have to get up early for work." or something like that.

She may not be aware that she can be overheard, but then again, she may and wants to be overheard. Have your wife talk to her; it will be even weirder for her if you do.
If she's a good neighbor, she will make adjustments, but there are limits on what you can ask of people. Some people are just naturally noisy when making love, you can't expect her to refrain simply because it irritates you. At least it's only once every two weeks.
It also depends on the situation. Are you in an apartment? You may have to talk to the super. Does she live in a house next door? Do either of you leave your windows open at night? What are the laws in your area about unnecessary noise after a certain hour?
If she's unreasonable or uncooperative, you may need to get the police involved, but this would be a last resort. Try to work something out first. Maybe she'd be willing to entertain her bf in another room, one that's on the opposite side of the house, so as not to disturb you so much, or you might choose to sleep in a guest room on those nights when you know she'll be "busy", if she's considerate enough to inform you in advance. Or maybe she'll take the hint and try to be quieter.
Finally, if you're on a real friendly basis, suggest she try a B&D ball gag!

Record it, make a copy. . Make an appointment to talk to them. Tell them you can hear the sex at 2am, and so can your kids. Ask them to keep it down. If they say no, play it back, and tell them the next person hearing it will be everyone who knows them, their mothers, fathers, friends company, etc. and leave. And everytime they have company, step out into the hall, tape player in hand, and say with a big smile, "This is them having sex, my kids can hear it, thought you should, too." Bet you do not get a chance to push the button. And be sure and have someone else in the hall with you, for a witness.
But, be warned. It's called risky sex, and people get off on it. the more public, the louder it gets, the more gratifying it is. So, when you go next door, and get a response, like, oh, you heard us, good, then it is time for the landlord, or to move.

This noise is what? Every two weeks for one night? Their sex, the part you hear, lasts how long? For the average couple the act only lasts a few minutes. Perhaps you should try to ignore it. Perhaps you are seceretly jealous because he makes his girlfriend come like a hound dog and your wife is nonvocal.
The polite thing to do is ignore it. Maybe get some earplugs for those biweekly visits.

I would ask them to take to keep it down, or take to a room with a wall that you do not share. And if that does not work, talk to the super. And if that still does not work. I would make more noise than them. Pick a night when her boyfriend is not there and you and your wife make as much sex noise as you can. Even pretend if you have to. Then we she asks you to keep it down, ask her how she likes it. Some people just need to go through it before they understand it.
Good luck.

That would be a difficult and embarrassing situation to ask them personally to be quiet face to face. Perhaps you could invite a law enforcement officer to come by and visit them. Not to do so in anger or spite, but simply a law enforcement officer may be the best one to bring the noise factor to your neighbor's attention.

Haha! I had the same problem but luckily that stopped pretty soon. I'm sure that if you told them to keep it down at night they would be embarrassed enough to stop. I know I would be! lol They probably just aren't aware of all the noise they make.

I would knock on the wall..and bang around, when she is being quiet..or ultimate pay back is one morning around 6 am...when you are getting ready for work...blare some loud music...or on the weekends works too...or if you aren't vendictive..then you could always move your bed away from the wall and rearrange your furniture to block out hte noise...

I say bang your wife better and make her scream as well. Or the next time you see your neighbor start mimicing the sounds you've heard and ask him if he's like you to make an audio recording for her.
