The testicles are gone but the sac is still there and takes a little while to shrink up. If it looks really big there could be some blood leaking and filling up the sac; have the vet take a look to make sure it's ok.

What you're seeing is the scrotal sack. The testes were inside it and were removed through the incision located along Fido's penis - look at where his stitches are. Remember, he's just had major surgery and is bound to be sore and not a little bit swollen.
Vets don't normally remove the scrotal sack as the swelling will gradually reduce as Fido heals and eventually be pretty smooth. That's especially if Fido was a youngster when neutered. If he was older then there may be some residual skin - but nothing to worry about.
Be sure to keep Fido quiet for the time being - and use an Elizabethan Collar for a few weeks to prevent him from licking/chewing his stitches. Also, bitter apple or chew-stop applied to the incision site will encourage him stay away from the stitches (use a cotton ball, please).

They remove the testicles and the sac remains. There could also be some swelling going on which is perfectly normal. It could also depend on how old he was when you got him neutered. If he was older (over a year) than the sac had time to get larger and it will just take time to recede. Just keep an eye out for redness, hot to touch or leaking for signs of infection. Good job on getting him neutered! More people need to do it!

What you are seeing is the sac that held the testicles, not the testicles themselves. The swelling will go down in a few days. You may still be able to see the sac itself, but unless your vet is a total quack, the testicles were removed.

I had my dog neutered 3 weeks ago. Some days his sac is filled and some day it's just saggy as the body thinks something should be there. The vet said this is completely normal; as long as the sac doesn't get any larger than it was prior to neutering and obviously as long as the dog does not look or act like he is in pain.

the vet would have only removed the testicle and the sac will remain once the swelling has gone down the sac should go flat or thin as there is not testicle inside but his sac will still stay where it is.
hope this stops you worrying

They must leave some of the skin, I thought my cat still had his testicles after being neutered but its just a lump of skin.
Alternatively, in your dogs case, it may be swelling from the operation.

They only removed the actual testicles, the sac will remain. There also may be some swelling.

They take the testicles out, but the skin surrounding them is still there and with post-operative swelling, it may look like he still has them. This swelling will go down and the skin will retract eventually. If the swelling doesn't go down or increases, take him back to your vet.

What your dog has is just the sacs left. They don't remove them anymore. They just remove the actual testicles and stitch up the sacs.
