look inside the band, it should say "14K" 0r ".585" . If that isn't inside the band then it's NOT gold.
If it's silver it will say "sterling"
If theres nothing then it's JUNK!
Do you have a mall near you? go into a BRAND NAME jewlery store and ask if you can't find.
Good Luck.

I have a ring that is 14k white gold and it doesn't have any markings at all. I did take it to a jeweler and it was confirmed to be real.

First of all, these people that answered you don't know what they're talking about...I had a custom ring made for my ex that was a combination of 14Kt yellow & 18K white gold and it didn't say anything inside the ring because it was a one-off design, cast and struck by a jeweler in his shop. It had a 1.3 carat, F/G color diamond in it and I told her to take it to a jeweler and have it appraised when her idiotic family said "It can't possibly be real...it would have cost a fortune!!" She did, it was and all the dummies who had told her different had egg on their faces. Secondly, if he said it was a gold ring, why would you need to prove him wrong? What did you give him???

It would say 14k in the inside of the ring.

Yes, all real rings have the information in the inside. If you still don't believe that, take it to a jeweler, they will be able to examine the ring for you. Honestly, your boyfriend gave you a fake ring.

yes it would say that it is 14k it should be in graved in the ring on the inside of it not the outside you should look around the in the inside for a small ingravement if it doesn't well looks like its fake does it.

just look on the inside and it would tell you the details or you can go to a jewelry store and ask them and i am sure they will tell you if its is 14K white gold!

Yes, he lied. Real rings have it stamped on the inside. Do you really want a boyfriend who lies? If he'll lie about that, he'll lie about anything. Loser!

I doubt he is lying. Take it to a pawn shop and ask how much you can get for it. They have a cloth that changes color when it is rubbed on gold.
