I have always wanted to become left handed but have never been able to muster up th discipline to practice everyday with my left hand. I am contemplating putting my right hand in a cast for a few weeks in order to force myself to become left handed. Would this work? Are there any better ideas out there?

I think putting your right arm in a cast is pretty extreme. I taught myself to write with my left hand and it took about 6 months just to gain control of the pen/pencil. It took almost 5 years to develop good penmanship with the left hand. I did this as an experiment and also in an attempt to activate some unused neural pathways. Just practice every chance you get. I used the dictionary and starting with the letter "A" copied all words and definitions. I got all the way to the letter "C" before I was really good at writing with my left hand. This will also help to improve your vocabulary. Practice, Practice, Practice!!!!

You can't. The cast idea will not work. You can try to practice doing the same things with the left hand as you do the right but perfection will be a far shot and as you've stated, you are not disciplined to do so. Accept your right hand ability. Why would you want to be left handed anyway?

I've heard people who are left handed can get a scholarship just because they are left handed. By the way left handed were made like that for a reason. People are different in their own way, they special in their own way. If want to have that skill you could try, it might not happen, but there is a chance.
Good luck with your plan haaaa want to be a left handed, what a joke.

practice pratice pratice. I'm right handed too but every now and then i try to swith to my left and stick with it for the rest of the day. I then try other things left handed like playing hockey left handed. I noticed an improvement in my left handed writing after 2 months.

It's better to be right-handed. Most things made are made for right handers. Besides Clinton is left handed.
