While some people believe masturbation is a sin, and some religions might teach such things, it doesn't seem very likely that Masturbation by itself, is a sin.
It might be followed by a sinful action, or done along with sinful actions, but that is true with a lot of actions.

No, I do not, and neither does my wife.
People that have serious psychological/spiritual issues with such a simply life function have my sympathy...for about 30 seconds.
You know, it was part of the old Hebrew tradition that every man take a wife. Now, for the rest of us on this planet, what if we choose to remain single? Are we expected to remain totally pure and celebate if we don't choose a partner to pleasure us?
No, it is not a sin, and there are a lot of seriously mixed up and inhibited people who think otherwise.
I guess that's their problem...

No no and definately no. If there were a god and he didn't want you to do it, why would he put your hands in such a convienient place to grab the goodies? I'd even go so far as to say it's a gift from god and if you don't do it you'll really piss him off. So I'd have to say not masturbating would be the sin.

No, it is not a sin.
What you are thinking while masturbating is usually where the sin comes in.

I don't believe in the Christian concept of sin, but to Christians and some other religious groups it may be a sin.

Nope.
These are the verses (9 & 10) given againist masturbation, but it actually has to do with Onan's not getting his dead bro's wife preg, like he is supposed to.

We are to do things that are pleasing to God. I don't think that any selfish act is pleasing to God. It also separates the oneness that God meant for us to have in a relationship. If you are not married, you should not be having relations with anyone, including yourself. If you are married and you are not satisfied in this way, you need to seek counseling, as there are probably issues that need to be resolved.
