I have a minolta maxxum50, 35mm camera. Just got my pictures back from target and the whole roll came out with 30% of the top of every picture came out black. looks like a black bar accross the top that is a little bigger on the right side of every picture.
Thank You

Thank you for the quick response. It was the vertical travel shutter. It is my sons camera and he pushed on it when loading some film I guess. Thanks

If you have a vertical travel shutter, this could be dragging also. Take Den B7's advice. Take the lens off of your camera, open the back of your camera and watch the mirror and also the shutter as you fire off a few shots. You can set the shutter speed to one second or even "B" so you get a chance to see what is really happening.

Sounds like something is preventing the mirror from completely swinging out of the way.

Remove the lens and do some shutter releases at a slow shutter speed. See if there's something blocking the mirror.

Does the camera automatically prevent you from using a higher shutter speed than the flash sync speed? If not and you did use flash, that might be it. It could be many other things.
