You are going to have some discomfort with natural childbirth. You can not get an epidural until you around 4-5 cm dilated. And that's not always easy. But, once you get the epidural, it does make the pain go away. I personally had 2 c-sections. Didn't really feel anything. But, the recovery was tough. But, I would recommend the epidural for pain control. It is safe for both mom and baby. It helps with the discomfort so that you can enjoy the birth experience. Now, there have been some instances when the epidural did not take. But, there were internal causes because of this. It's best to discuss pain options with your doc. They want your experience to be as pleasant as possible. They don't want to be taking care of an out of control, screaming mom trying to have a baby.

Epidural should make it painless. They gave me an epidural but it didn't work because the tube they put in moved and so the analgesia wasn't going to the right place. By the time the anesthetist came back it was too far along to do it again so i continued on with the gas and air.. The pains are soon forgotton once the baby is born........

I think it's impossible to have an absolutely painless birth. There are pain relief methods though, such as having an epidural (which worked wonders for me). I still felt uncomfortable at times, but not in a whole bunch of pain.

NO way no how can you have a painless birth. even if you get an epidural you still have contraction before you receive an epidural. and if you have a c-section you have a painless birth but will pay hell afterwards. the only painless birth is not at all.

Ha! Painless-no. I undergo in strategies it feeling like my insides have been being ripped out. I have been given an intrathecal (shot in the decrease back that enables you to nonetheless upward push up and circulate around), which took the soreness away until eventually i become waiting to push. Then, soreness on lower back. It could no longer not often walk to get decrease back into mattress for the pushing. It become awful. i do no longer see the place human beings can say they forget approximately the soreness. Nope, no longer me. I additionally do no longer see how human beings could have painless births and orgasms. no longer me. My births have been additionally incredibly rapid (6hrs energetic with the 1st and 3 hrs with the 2nd), so i comprehend that become a contributing element.

well i didnt have an absolutely painless birth, it was all natural, but honestly, the labor and birth wasnt nearly as painful as the weeks after when i was healing from my tear. if u want a "painless" birth, u can try an epidural. thats the closest ull get, but u will miss out on the experience. so i dont know if i recommend it (i wont be getting one)

I don't believe there are any births that are completely painless. A planned C-section would by-pass labor pains but you would still have to deal with an epidural and post-operative pain from the section.

They will never be completely painless. You would be in active labor when you go to the hospital and that will hurt. If you get an epidural, you would be pretty pain free (if it works) until it wears off. There is pain involved afterwards as well.

ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!! Don't punk out. Do it naturally! Go to a Birthing Center and give birth in the water! You'll have less pain in the long run! You're Midwife won't cut you open and give you narcotics that are bad for your baby, like an epidural or pain meds along the same line. You'll be able to eat and drink in the Birthing Center instead of being fed ice chips for hours at a Hospital. Only disadvantage of doing it naturally, with discomfort, is you'll have to WOMAN it up and sacrifice some pain tolerance to ensure a healthy delivery. Did I say Disadvantage, I guess for some it is.

The closest you can get to no pain is an epiderhyl or have a c-section which doesn`t hurt during but the healing process is another story. another downer to c-section is your out of it really I mean your awake but your basically "stoned." I did not try any of these because I have never been pregnant. But i have been told when you give birth it hurts the most when your dialating and afterwards it`s all worth it although we would all like to have pain free birth it`s really impossible. In the end it`s worth it to go through the pain.
