i got kneed in the face in training and blood went everywhere and the guys there said it wasn'y broken. there was a huge swollen knot but they felt it and said it was not. i went to school with a swollen huge purple nose with a huge gash on it and its been about four days and the swelling has stopped. well, now i see and feel this sharp piece of something and the bridge of my nose and it hurts. it feels like it wants to poke through the skin. but the majority of my nose is in tact. could a splinter of the bone broke and is what i see and feel. it looks wierd. what to do?

I really think it's broken.
You should go to the Dr., definitely. I hope it gets better soon- that really sucks.

Time to see a doctor for an x-ray! I had a car accident where I broke my nose. I ended up having to have surgery, because a splinter of bone was causing me a lot of pain! About a year afterwards, another small sliver of bone worked its way to the surface - talk about painful! Get it seen about now - and hopefully it's an easy fix.

There is no way for him to tell, you need to go get an x-ray. I have something similar happen with an elbow once, blood was everywhere, nose looked okay. Went to the doctor and have 3 fractures in the nose. Go get it checked you probably have at least a fracture and need it checked but at least it shouldnt need to be set.

I bounce part time at a Gangster Rap Club. I hate the music and walk around it with earplugs in. I am onlt there as it is extremely violent and they recruited me for my martial arts skills. I work 4 nights a week with an average of 6 fights a night for the last 4 years. As you can tell, I have much experience in real life fighting as well as martial arts.
On August 5th last year, I ended up in a fight with 6 guys at the same time. I didn't know who I was fighting until they swung at me. One thug got my big Mag-Lite away from me and smashed me in the face with it several times. (At least I knocked 2 of them out and was on my 3rd by the time he got me.) I went to the ER for a catscan and they had called the police as I was beat so bad. I ended up having to get my nose reconstructed and the sides pushed back out with surgery. Two months later I had to go back for another surgery to straighten the septum out(the center piece of your nose) I couldn't breathe through my nose for 4 months. It sucked. Now it has been repaired and I was finally released to go back to a full schedule last month.
Nose breaks are serious, it affects your vision, your breathing, and your ability to pick up womem.
Get it looked at. You will never be the same if you don't. The bones will just align and settle out of place. Then you will never have the same airflow to fight in or out of the ring again.

The nose is alot of cartlidge as well. You can easily tell a broken nose, but if you want to not change to structure of your face , I'd get it checked out by the school nurse.

Go to the Dr or hospital your nose is broken and needs to be fixed. It sounds like it needs to be reset. Otherwise you will have problems breathing in the future. Don't wait any longer you need to have it checked immediately.

well i happen to agree with bluto.and i think you should wake up to your self.you attack some one for an answer that makes a lot more sense than your moronic question.maybe your the one that needs to grow up?use some common sense go to a dr.

It is fractured at the very least. Go to a doc. Get it repaired, you don't want to go around with a wonky looking nose.

It takes some stress to interrupt a bone and the tissues interior your nostril are very mushy, so any stress super adequate to interrupt the bone would likely reason harm to the tissues interior the nostril inflicting them to bleed.
