I have a completely unfinished basement in the Cincinnati area. I want walls, ceiling, carpet, bathroom, and other things that make a basement complete. My question is what is a reasonable price to pay per square foot to get it finished?

well all i can help you out is with the drywall and finishing the drywall... it will cost approximatly 23 cents per square foot to hang the drywall, and about 20 cents to finish it. So estimate around 50 cents a sq foot alone for the walls getting in. A plumber to install plumbing work will cost you around 300-500$'s. Carpet, if bought in certain places can be installed for free. but if not, they install it for just a little less than what you paid for it.. so if you spend 1000$ on carpet, you will be paying about 800 to have them install it. We finished a 600 sq ft basement, and if my husband wasnt the one the did it all, it would have cost us around 3000$ best of luck

This can vary a lot. It will depend much on the quality of materials used and the skill of who does it. Never take the low bid, get several and take the one in the mid range.

Adding a bathroom to a basement can be quite expensive indeed, it kind of depends on exactly how your house is set up in the first place, but you may have to have floors tore up to lay pipes, requiring concrete cutting and so forth. also you probably will need some sort of pumping system as usually the basement floor is lower than the waste pipes. This requires an automatic, sealed system, and electrical power. even running electric in a basement can be problematic. the walls will probably need to be firred out to make a place to run the wires.

What is reasonable? That all depends on your pocketbook. I would think the minimum would be about 22 dollars a square foot. it could run much more depending on just what will have to be done to add the bathroom and electrical.
