As you know, there are votes cast for the new pope. Since the pope is supposed to be only infallible entity within the church, it is probably not divine. However, I believe the prayers may create an atmosphere of righteous feeling, creating the myth of divine. That means a new pope can not possibly be divine, at least not for a while.

With all the false doctrines that come out of Catholicism, what makes you think God supports it at all? The Catholics are the ones that contaminated Christianity with such paganism as the trinity, purgatory, hellfire, and pagan holidays like Christmas, Easter, and Halloween. And what about the title of Catholocism's leader--the Pope? The word "Pope" comes from the Latin "pappas," which means "father." Didn't Jesus say at Matt. 23:9 that his followers were not to use flattering titles like "father"? So by accepting that title, the Pope is directly going against the express command of Jesus himself. So what makes anyone think that God has a hand in any of the affairs of the Catholic Church?

a million. No, Catholics don't think that the pope is divine. he's a mortal individual, that's it. 2. The pope is the chief of our church, that's all. in case your church has a frontrunner, it is the comparable difficulty. We have self belief in having a frontrunner via fact Jesus set issues up that way (Matthew sixteen).

Absolutely!
I thought Cardinal Ratzinger would be the best choice, but I knew there were a number of liberal Cardinals voting who would try to get one of their people in....so how does providence work in?

Simple, a house divided cannot stand. The liberals couldn't get their act together- so the one candidate who was true to the Church and to God os now our Pope!

If they truly want to have the Pope that God desires for them to have, why not put all the candidates names in a hat, and pray that God allows them to draw out the one He wants for Pope. That way God decides instead of them. Don't they trust God to make the right decision?

Yes.

Before every vote during a papal conclave, the cardinals pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit to help them choose the right person.

Yes. Same for all of them, in one way or another.

And except for one small detail, "Bubba" actually described the way a new pope is elected, although I'm sure he thought he was just kidding around.
