The officer is trained in speed estimation before he is certified in either laser or radar. The officer will usually pick out what he perceives as the fastest in the bunch or the the first in the pack. Next the officer will use the laser or radar to get a speed reading. If the officer is using laser, the laser is vehicle specific which means he point the laser at your car and get a reading for your car. Radar picks out the fastest moving car usually. Most agencies are using lasar. Lasar is very accurate.

I try to go slower and stay in the slow lane. What is the point of speeding? We have an area where people go 75 in a 55 all the time. It is the 215 that circles las vegas. Sometimes cops give out tons of tickets- it is so easy to speed there because the road is wide open. I usually stay in the slow lane and keep it at about 60.

I wouldn't count on speeding in a group to protect you from a ticket! Consider this old story:
A Police Officer pulls a Man over and writes him a speeding ticket.
The Man says, "I was in the middle of a group of at least thirty speeders. Why am I the only one getting a ticket?"
The Officer asks, "Do you ever go fishing?"
The Man replies, "Of course I do! What's that got to do with my ticket?"
The Officer asks, "Do you ever catch ALL the fish?"
Good Luck finding the answer you are looking for and Bless You!!

The person that he gets behind and turns on the lights. Even if you are in a crowd of four or five cars traveling at the same speed (over the speeding limit), whoever is at the back of the pack will get pulled over.
That's the way it is, and that's the way it will always be.

WHom ever the cop can catch. If he cancatch the whole group then he can ticket the whole group. Practicality says that he/she will probably pull over just one person because it would create confusion if trying to pul oer various people. So, if you are in a group and all of you are speeding then its a matter of luck. It has to do on which person he sees and is able to confirm with his radar gun.

I've seen up to 5 cars pulled over by one police officer at the same time. Sometimes, they get ALL of you, so don't think you're safe. I've also seen cops ignore someone fly by doing 90 and pull over the car behind him doing 80.

The radar unit will pick up the largest, closest vehicle to it and that is who is going to get the ticket. This is who is in the zone of influence.

Usually the vehicle in front. A radar will always pick out the object that is closer to its screen. Hope that this helps.

You could ALL be pulled over. I've seen 2 police cars pull over 4 or 5 speeders in a row.

You pull in front of the pack and get them all, but you keep everybody seated in the car so you can ID the drivers in court
