I've been to both and honestly couldn't tell the difference(besides So-Cal's winter weather) I guess it comes down to Del Taco or White Castle.

Both are super duper expensive...

I prefer California. As long as you mentally and emotionally prepare yourself for the earthquakes and act like they are no big deal like everyone else there... You'll be fine.

I love both places, I have lived in both places but I prefer the West coast. It is simply less polluted.

In either place... I prefer Western or Southern NJ and Northern California.

new jersey but if you do not want the snow then california is the place

And even if you do want snow, but don't want it to bother you where you live/work, Calif is the place. You can in the snow free lowlands and drive to the mountains at Tahoe, Big Bear, etc.

Depends where in CA and where in NJ. Both are very diverse states.
