Hi, I used to work in theatre sets & what we would do to make a set appear gothic--is take tremclaid (metal paint) in a spray & spray paint the light fixtures.

As well, as you have a white color on the walls--maybe you want to go with a mauve but try to not pick too dark unless you want to purchase more lights.

So start w/ the light fixtures & maybe switch your curtains to a blood red or even a velvet black--and match the cushions on the sofa to that.

I was recently at a client's home who had her entire living room painted in blood red--and she had gothic fixtures attached to her ceiling. What she had though was a fireplace as her main view pt & she had a large (7' x 3') mirror along the back to the sofa.

She had also painted the main bathroom on the ground floor so it appeared to have "plaster" walls, & they painted it a darker green with an old looking sink holder & a fancier sink.

I do know though that you can't easily paint ceramic tiles unless you find a website that has instructions on how to make them appear Stoneish--which would lend its own "gothic" look as well.

+ remember black lace works well & a few other well placed pieces.

you could start by painting or replacing the light fixtures with a dark bronze color. painting the walls darker colors is your best bet. just tackle the rooms one at a time, dont overwhelm yourself.use a lot of greys and browns and save the red and black for accents--you will grow tired of black or red walls in a short time. grey is a very easy color to accessorize, and will be easier to repaint in future if you want to change colors or sell the house. you might consider doing the entrance foyer and bathroom and kitchen floors in a grey ceramic or slate tile. You could also put a chair rail up in the dining and living room about 3 feet from the baseboard and then painting the lower half a dark grey and the upper half and ceiling a lighter grey.

I would suggest that you start with some simple fairly cheep things like curtains and paint. the curtains can be made easily even no sewing. paint just go to your local home improvement store and find what you like just remember it always looks darker on the wall especially if your painting a whole room. you can paint a scene on the wall castle cave cemetery whatever you like.
try looking on-line for ideas the site listed below is a very good start. I think Gold fixture can be used if the rest of the room is a castle motif if not they are easily changed . Have fun

If you were truely Goth you wouldn't need to ask such questions, but I guess you are an all around liar.
