On valentines day my boyfriend text me and said that he does'nt want to take one day out of the year to make me feel special that he will do that everyday. I did'nt get a card, a dinner...nothing. Just an" I love you". He took me out for my birthday the last part of January. Did I not deserve anything for valentines day because of my birthday? I at least got him a card....Oh yeah I did'nt get anything for Christmas either. We've been dating for about 7 months.

Maybe he doesn't have money or he feels that valentines isn't all that important? I don't know for sure maybe you should be discussing that with him. After all don't you think that he would rather have you ask him that question before you ask other strangers out here that voice or make their opinions known about a relationship that you are involved with?

Communication is the key to every good relationship and by avoiding asking him will not help your relationship or help you to come to an understanding of each other. I think that if most girls came on yahoo answers before discussing that with their boyfriends I could see that he would feel uncomfortable if ever found that out.

Talk to him about it and ask him how he feels about Valentines Day. Ask him if it means any thing to him and allow him to ask you the same question or tell him that happen to like it yourself. You will never know until you break that communication barrier with him personally I think.

As for having an opinion about your boyfriend I don't have one because I don't know him personally but I do know that he would be upset if you didn't talk to him about it. Most guys would especially if they were in the spotlight. Consider his feelings first.

If gifts mean that much to you then you should go find someone who is into gift giving. People who are not into the gift thang are just that way.

Personally, I would rather have a man love me and be affectionate all the time and care for me - than get a trinket now and then on a few special days out of the year.

The words "I love you" spoken with true feeling are a wonderful gift.

I understand not wanting to buy into the 'hallmark holiday' but he could've at least MADE you a card, or made you dinner.
