Adderall made me feel very weird. I would FEEL it wearing off and become very very depressed. It also made me feel extremely carefree (unnaturally carefree) to the point that i would drive like a madwoman. It became dangerous, and it was terrible when it wore off.

Yes. Adderall is a stimulant, whereas Strattera is a norepinephrine reputake inhibitor (not a stimulant). They're mechanisms of action, efficacy, and side effects are totally different.

I tried Strattera briefly and couldn't tolerate it at all, even at a very low dose, whereas I've had very few side effects with a relatively high dose of Concerta (time released methylphenidate, which is a stimulant). I've heard other people who've had bad reactions to stimulants and done well with Strattera. Individual reactions very, and neither option universally has fewer side effects, but there's very little correlation between reactions of one individual to the two different meds. So if you're having problems with Strattera, it's definitely worth trying a stimulant like Adderall.

I'd recommend that you start with methyphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin) rather than Adderall. The mechanisms of action of the two drugs are very similar, and studies have found that there's no significant difference in efficacy (i.e. how well they work). However, studies have also found that Adderall is associated with a somewhat stronger appetite supressing effect than methyphenidate. So on average methylphenidate has a somewhat lower chance of adverse effects than Adderall at a therapeutic dose. As with Strattera vs. Adderall, individual reactions to the medications vary, and some people have better results with Adderall than methylphenidate, but statistically you're somewhat more likey to get good results with methylphenidate than Adderall, so I'd recommend you start with that, and try Adderall only if the methylphenidate doesn't work out.

They are different...

Adderall is an amphetamine molecule (or the combination of 2 amphetamines, hence the "Add" part of the name).

There are 2 primary treatments for "true" ADHD (and by that I mean a clean diagnosis that conforms to the criteria, not just "I can't focus as well as I think I ought to be"). One is the amphetamine derivitives such as Dextroamphetamine and Adderall. The other is the methyphenidate line, such as Ritalin and Concerta. In "true ADHD" one or the other will work about 90% of the time.

Stratera is not as effective as the stimulants. It is more similar to the SSRI type of antidepressants such as Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, Celexa, Lexapro, ad nauseum. It may work better in people who have anxiety with inattention, but the treatment response in "true ADHD" is not as robust as is for the amphetamine/methylphenidate derivatives...

i do no longer think of he will provide you an IR ritalin to combine with concerta; yeah, comparable easy components, yet nonetheless. in any case, that's why i take adderall xr 2 cases an afternoon, generally 8 hours aside. i hated something like ritalin, continually made me drained and not in any respect lasted long in any respect, even the meant durable formulation lol. have you ever tried vyvanse or dexedrine? those are generally incredibly solid, incredibly the vyvanse.
