And it was instilled in our minds at a young age that boys do not cry. Men are not supposed to show emotions even though we have them.
Anyway, as a woman, don't you want your man to be confident and not a crybaby.
It's a man thing. If you want to get to know your man's feelings, then go ask his mother.

To expose one's feelings is to expose one's vulnerabilties. It's not that these men are control freaks. The truth is, their women and their families *need* the man's leadership and 'groundedness'. Having a grounded, reserved man exudes a sense of permanence and stability in the relationship.
