Hell is real, it is eternal. Maybe not hot, but it is firey,
Matthew 5:22; Matthew 18:9, Mark 9:43 talk about fire, Mark mentions the fire will never go out.
See also Luke 16:23, James 3:6
Matthew 25:46 calls it eternal
And there are many more verses...

A, Well for Christians hell should be a real place since it is refered to numerous times in the gospels, letters and in revelation.
B. First condemned souls go to hell to wait for the second judgment. Then after they are judged again after the end of the world, if they are found guilty again they get tossed back in with Satan and his angels. Look in the last part of revelations. I beleive Rev 20:11-15 is the right area for this. It is considered the second death.
C. Jesus made several references to a burning trash heap just outside the city as a metaphor for hell. It was a very unpleasent place - no one wanted to be there. This is where the references of heat and fire first come from - an attempt to describe the undescribable. I don't know if there is a difference between the first judgement's hell and the second's. That's really not clear. The second is called a lake of fire - although again, this could be a metaphor for something that can't really be described.

Yes, The Holy Scriptures are God's words. I shall answer your questions shortly.
a) Yes, Hell is a real place. In Revelation 20:7-9 John describes how Satan will be "released from his prison" (that's hell) and go out ot deceive nations and call many people to battle. In other verses (14-15) there is described how Hades (the world of the dead, in Greek mythology - if you remember; but here it means the place where the dead people rest) and death are thrown in the lake of fire (the second death - that is perpetual separation from God).
2. Yes, it lasts forever. As God lasts forever, so does evil and his aboding place.
3. Since the Revelations mentions a lake of fire, I suppose it is quite HOT, don't you think?
And I would also add the passages from the Scriptures mentioned by righton.

Hell is a real place. It is not eternal, it is the fire that cleans this earth up, removing sin and sinners so YHVH can make this world over, and very good. Yes fire is hot. Ask a local Seventh Day Adventist for a bible study on the State of the Dead and Hell. Rev 20:14,15 and Rev 21:1 (remember the chapter divisions were not in the original, and aren't inspired)

GOD's word is the bible. If you have read it and prayed for guidance, you would know that better than anyone else. Hell is a real place. As far as the temperature, well that's never been told. We do know that the soul will burn for eternity. However, that could mean something other than fire. The more I live on this earth, the more clearer it is to me that hell is indeed real. I can't imagine what motivates the sick, inhumane people on this earth to do what they do. I know GOD isn't guiding them, therefor it has to be Satan. Thank you and GOD bless.

In the NT, the Greek word that "hell" replaces is Tartarus.
In Greek Mythology, Tartarus is the lowest level of earth, below hades, It is a dungeon of punishment. The dead go to hades, and the gods, who were the most immoral went to Tartarus for endless punishment. Hades, or Sheol in the old testament was a comfortless pit for the dead. Its a place where both good and bad go to after death, and we are either saved from Sheol by the Lord, or not.

In the Bible it doesnt say that hell is a place, but it mentions that if a person sins he doesnt go to עולם הבאה (the world to come). It doesnt say this in the text, but in Rashi or the Talmud you might find sorces to know if i really exists and if/or forever. And in Hebrew hell is עזהזאל and many Jews beileve that it exists forever. Everyone always pictures Hell as a hot, lava kind of place. But in reality no ones really knows as much as guesses, they cant really know until they have gotten there.
