my freind and i were going to start singing together when bluntly she says to me"Well everybody KNOWS IM going to be the lead singer(smug grin)."What do I say to her and when she is vein like that?

Well i have to ask -- is it obvious? Is she a more talented singer? Although there is a difference between confidence and being smug. So if she is being annoying about it but you agree that she would be a better singer point out what you attributes are -- do you have a better stage presence? are you more outgoing? are you the pretty one? If it isn't obvious that she be the lead then I say tell her that you don't think it is obvious and that you should sing as equal duet partners.

Be polite: ask her why she has to say things like that? Also ask her why she has to be so vain / pretentious and does she know that she hurts you when she behaves in such a way. Then ask her if she is trying to be hurtful to you?

When confronted with such a response to vanity nastiness, those who have been pretentious will often realize their error. With those questions above, all she can really do is realize how petty and horrible she is being... if she does not, then she isn't your friend at all...

Sing... sing out loud... sing out strong... and the whole world will sing with you...

Just see how it plays out, she will be really pissed when you move and take lead.
