Pimples occur when a gland near the skin's surface becomes clogged. Bacteria becomes lodged in the pore. The pore fills up with cells trying to fight the infection, and this leads to pus formation. The skin becomes inflammed, irritated, and red. Whammo - a zit.
Washing your face twice a day and using a non-comdogenic (non-clogging) moisturizer is a good start. Over the counter aids with benzoyl peroxide will help kill the bacteria, but can dry and irritate the skin at first. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully. If this doesn't work, your doctor can prescribe a stronger aid or antibiotics, or both.
As for the water: most people don't get enough of it. It will help with overall health, including skin health. However, there is no direct link between hydration and acne. Don't let this keep you from getting 6-8 big glasses a day, though.

There are several good points given to you but I would like to ad. Drinking water is good for you're whole body and will help detox you're system. It is a fact that, Caffeine and Diary product contribute to acne, so cut those down on a daily intake. Cleanse you're face with a none oily, water based cleanser, 2X day, be consistent. Don't use moisturisers during day but add a none Oliy one for nights(to replenish you're water, not oil. After any physical activities, immediately cleanse off sweat,(if not, you're sweat will clog you're pores) "Stridex pads, or similar prod. will do nicely". Now add, Vitm. Beta Carotene (this is a watersalluable source of Vitm. A ), needet to dry up Acne, also take Vitm.Zinc, 25mg. per day, and Vitamin E,5oomg. This combination will greatly help with Acne and prevent you from having any scarring. For "systic Acne" you must see a Dermotologyst (they will use Acu Tan) or you can get a RX for "Retin A" ( as you can see, The source of "A" is used in all the treatments) however, "A" can and will be dangerous to you're Liver unless waterbased, (that's why you get Beta Caratene)over the counter and the none water based you will need a prescrption. This information is given so that you realize that (BETA CARATENE CAN HELP)

Drinking water does not cure pimples but it will help your skin stay clear. Try to avoid caffeine as much as you can. Also I thought this info could help you treat your pimples at home.

Homemade pimples treatments:

You may try one of the following homemade pimple treatments.

1) Application of fresh mint juice over face every night cures pimples and prevents dryness of the skin.

2) Mix equal amounts of lemon juice and rose water. Apply on face and keep for 1/2 hour. 3 to 4 weeks of this application helps cure pimples and also removes blemishes and scars

3) Use 2-3 tsp. dried basil leaves to 1 cup boiling water. Steep 10-20 minutes. Cool, and apply with cotton ball.

Vitamin A helps, too. You could take 25,000 IU's a day for a month or two to see if it does help, besides drinking 8 8 oz. glasses of water a day and cleansing your face often.
Also, keep your fingers away from your face. Oils and dirt can be transfered from your hands onto your face.

Lots of water = flushing out system, being healthy and hydrated. As far as "curing" pimples, well it wont hurt.
