It's a question of scales: on what scale do you want to examine my life?

On the grand total view of the universe stretching out through time scale, I do not matter at all. Or to be more precise, my importance is almost (but not quite) absolute zero.

On the human, me and my friends and loved ones scale, to my surprise I matter a lot.

In all honesty, I don't. I'm important to my kids and that's about it. Someone else asked a similar question today, and it's humbling to realize that had my kids never been born, I could cease to exist and no one in this world would miss me. It was eye-opening to realize that, time now for me to do something with my life. We should all be important to those in our own little corner of the world, but I've shut myself off from everyone so it's time for me to get out there and live again.

The importance of your life depends on you. Every single solitaire person born into existence has a purpose. and that's to Serve God. Now in the beginning the serpent threw a glitch in God's plan. God loves your soul, satan envies your soul so its up to the individual to make a decision on the importance of their life.

um....I don't know. I don't really care either. I got a shitload of other things to worry about other than 'why I matter'. But.....

I don't really see myself important. If I were to die right now, the world wouldn't slow down at all.

However, I matter to my friends, and family, and that is more than enough to make me content with my life.

I am not important and I do not matter. Ten thousand years from now, only a handful of people alive today will be remembered for who they were. One million years from now the entire human race will have been forgotten and it will be like we were never here. So respect for each other in the now, because that is all we have.

For the most part, I'm not, and I don't. I am important to my friends and family, to my employer. But in the big picture I'm pretty insignificant. To me this is very comforting, it takes a lot of stress off to know that whatever happens to me, the world will still be ok.

In the big picture I suppose I DON'T matter all that much. I matter to my family and friends. But in a hundred years I doubt I will have mattered all that much. I'm another ant on this planet adrift in a godless universe. But that's just me. lol

We were created with a purpose. Read the Bible in how God says He loves us to send His only Son, Jesus. We do matter. He wants to Save and sanctify us. Isn't that cool.

In the grand scheme of things, I don't

Jefferson wrote...If you want to be immortal, either write something worth reading, or do something worth writing about.

I don't think I'm going to do either.

I'm important to my friends and family. I matter to them. That's enough for me.

My purpose is to leave well loved, cared for, stable, children behind. Hopefully they can become immortal.

In the grand scheme of things, not one of us is important. To put it to scale, our planet in the universe is like a grain of sand on a very large beach. We live on that grain of sand. Enjoy life while you are here, because in 10,000 years chances are nobody will know any of us ever existed.
