Was your Ebrake on? I assume that is why you are asking about the e brake.....
If you drove with the e brake on then the rear brakes were "on" while you were driving. Depending on how much the brake was pulled and the mileage that was driven, you may need new pads and rotors (or drums depending on the vehicle year).

The emergency brake controls the rear wheels.
What you might have seen is from water hitting the brakes. Your mustang may have 4 wheel disc brakes. If it does the brakes may be sticking. Take the car to Pep Boys or an Advanced, any place that does free brake inspections.
FYI you probably don't need brakes, just an adjustment, no matter what the garage tells you get a second opinion.
Good luck

In the winter, steam will come out from the darndest places. Brakes and wheels get hot. That's what they do. If a little ice got in there you're gonna see steam. It's normal. Just make sure the E-brake is released and carry on.

Mustang! Challenegers are incredibly staggering too. What a pair of camaro? yet out of your alternatives, bypass with the mustang. The boss is particularly sturdy. Plus ford is the appropriate American automobile to purchase now

back. it couldve been frozen up or salt stuck in between caliper and shoe. happened to mine the other day i thought i had a bearing going out. I took the car to the carwash and washed the areas real good before they froze (its only 4 degrees here in illinois) and the noise thankfully went away.
