What book and verse did the statement "Whatever you hold true on Earth, I will honor in Heaven" come from?

I think you are referring to this scripture: whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

It is found in two places, Matthew 16:19 and Matthew 18:18

Matthew 16:19
"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven."

It sounds a little like when Jesus told Peter "And whatever you unlock here on earth will be unlocked in heaven as well"

It was when Jesus was commissioning Peter to stand up and be a leader.....giving him the 'keys' if you will. Jesus also proclaimed that upon this rock (petros in the Greek) He would build His church.

Not uopn Peter.....but upon the solid foundational truth of the Word of God.

That was in a statement from Jesus to his apostles in praying to God in his name. Just before he left.
