Depends where in Wales you're staying. As has already been said, South Wales is very well served with large shops, more difficult in the north. Take the essentials with you, then get out and meet the locals in your nearest village or small town. It would be really appreciated by the local people who often struggle to make a living running a small shop in a remote area. The lure of the supermarket has put most of them out of business already. You might pay a bit more for your groceries, but you will get personal service, and maybe learn a little more of the Welsh people, by so doing. Llwyddiant!

Wales has the same facilities in towns as England but you are probably staying in a country area and it is decidedly more rural then in England. There may be a village shop which will be more fun then Tesco's particularly if you are learning Welsh. Have a good time - I love Wales

And be prepared to use the locally-produced vegetables an
meat, too; this may be more expnsive but this can be offset
if you can try t cook the local recipe(s).
For wales is a small
"country" (as a country its a part of Britain,or the United Kingdom
and is only thus a Principality); has few cities, but lots of towns
and villages-all located within their own usually distinct areas.
For instance, you may well find urself in a WELSH speaking
town and area; and if you do, i can recommend you learn how
how-to-say a simple "thank-you" an "yes please"; for these
close-knit communities can be warm, friendly and fun-but some
can be a little reseved or even unfriendly(until they git to know
you!). So have a lovely time, meet the people, even the ones
in the relatively few-and-far between supermarkets!

The only shops in Wales are welsh ones selling things such as dragons, pointed hats and lava bread. I doubt if people in the area you are going to starve or do without due to the lack of a Tesco's. So just shop where they shop. And be thankful you are able to avoid the tyranny of major supermarket chains for a change!

Err, Wales is a big country!! Give us a clue as to where you are going! If you're staying somewhere remote & not near a largish town, obviously you're not going to have a Tesco on your doorstep. Try being adventurous & use the local shops instead.

Well it depends of where you are in Wales? because i live in Llanelli and there are loads of supermarkets, Tesco, Asda, Kiwk save, Iceland and stuff. So it depends on where you are in Wales and there isnt a different website for ones in Wales.

i was suffering a bit with withdrawal symptoms because I'm from Stockport and I'm now living in Wales to attend Aberystwyth University. To tell you the truth there isn't alot here compared to england. In Aber tho, there's a morrisons, iceland, lidl, co-op, somerfield, and tonnes of spars! so they're just the food shops. Best to just turn up here and explore! Hope you have fun!

if you're renting a collage, then you're somewhere up west or north wales, everywhere there is full of rednecks. you'll be lucky to find a local shop that will even sell you things because you're not from the area, and if you're English, then you're screwed.
