I want to be a trainer, ever since I was little. I love the sport and people I know are trainers. I could talk to them but I want more input. What do I have to do? I live in the Northern Virginia area and often go to CharlesTown, Rosecroft, and Laurel. I was practically raised there. Please help me learn more!

Well prolly the best way is to start at the bottom with a top trainer.

you get more and more responsibility until you become an assistant trainer. than you take the trainers test.
might take a while but that the best way to go.

You get to train and watch the trainers train the best horses.
and you learn from their experince.

Get a job working for a trainer.
Work on a breeding training racing farm learn all you can.
Learn to ride and exercise the horses and work on developing relationships with the clients.
When you feel you can support yourself go out on your own. You will need clients who want you to train their horses. You will have to have a place to keep horses and a track on it and help to clean stalls and exercise and feed and do all the other stuff along with that.
Most all trainers I know started out under some one else and worked their way up and then went out on their own.

Get a job working for one, and just work your way up. My dad, and uncle, used to be trainers, and both did pretty good. They both started when they were in high school, and my uncle continued until he got his arm broke when a horse fell with him.
