bah,, dont lesson to the wackos --- OH MY GOD GLOBAL WARMING people...
in the 1970s the science people also came out and said that the world as we know it was ending.. mass starvations.. global cooling was a fact and it was happening..
any one that tells you all the facts are in... is a wacko and at that point you should walk away from them..
science will never have all the facts on anything.. thats just the way it is.. things change.. here is an artical from 1975 on OH MY GOD global cooling

Why is Japan and the Arctic having one of their warmest winters?
Don't confuse weather with global climate.

To the individual who mentioned the whole concept of Global Warming causing greater weather instability hurricanes/tornadoes etc, you are aware Dr. Christopher Landsea, a leading expert in the field of hurricanes and tropical storms, has openly said that this is completely not true, and actually resigned as an author for the IPCC 2007, because of the politicization and corruption of the IPCC right???
He just happens to be one of the most respected scientists in his field, and was an author and reviewer on the 95&2K1 IPCC report as well. Here is a quote from him
"I found it a bit perplexing that the participants in the Harvard press conference had come to the conclusion that global warming was impacting hurricane activity today. To my knowledge, none of the participants in that press conference had performed any research on hurricane variability .... All previous and current research in the area of hurricane variability has shown no reliable, long-term trend up in the frequency or intensity of tropical cyclones, either in the Atlantic or any other basin."
So called global warming has nothing to do with more powerful hurricanes, this has been reported from multiple sources, countless times. Its only one of the multiple so called “facts” in Mr. Gore’s Box Office smash comedy “An Inconvenient Truth.”, that are not based in any science what so ever, and is pretty much just a straight out scare tactic, and lie, to get gullible people to jump on board the Global Warming bandwagon.

You cannot take individual data points as evidence of anything.
This is the mistake people made when it was so warm in New York in December. Oh! 60 degrees in December! This is global warming.
Now that the whole country is freezing for weeks on end nobody seems to care.

To look at the average u need to be careful u Carnot average averages. the samples to make up the sample determines how u put it together. If for this day u have a 1000 samples at 37 deg. F. and today we hit 18 deg F. they must be weighted combined to get the true average.
The Environmentalist refuse to accept data contrary to their beliefs . That is not science. Here in Texas we broke a record low was 22 deg. F. with a 19 deg F. The record had stood for 100 years. That would mean that we are getting colder. Take in all data for a given day and average them all.

The main point of global warming is that we appear to be changing the balance of a finely tuned, balanced machine that gives us life support. I haven't taken any temerature readings anywhere except in my neck of the woods and we seem to have had one of the warmest Decembers ever. but I believe it probably is true that the overall temperature is getting warmer, as many scientists say. this overall warming could cause weather extremes in localized places. for instance, it hasn't snowed in this part of florida for a long time. I believe it may tonight! It's pretty chilly here and there are clouds present.

While the glib answer is simply that the Liberals are lying, that's a little too easy. In fact, global warming, caused by solar activity and variations in the earth's orbit, causes cold melt water to go into the ocean. Since heat rises, cold water drops to the bottom of the sea. This acts to slow or even stop water from rising from the bottom under hydraulic pressure from the tropics. So the ocean currents slow down, and may even stop, allowing them to cool down in the northern and southern poles of the planet. This is the mechanism that will bring on glaciation eventually regardless of mankind's activities. We're just seeing the start of the cycle.

Not in my part of America. We had the warmest December on record and have only had about ten or fifteen days of normal cold! We have just had our first real snowstorm of the season - it didnt amount to much, and the lake next to my house wasn't frozen over until a few days ago.
As usual, there are some parts colder than average and some parts warmer than average. It happens every year.

I think its time we retire the term "global warming" and focus more on the term "climate change". With el nino coupled with the Greenhouse Effect, temperatures are varying widely, not just rising, but falling in some places as well as raising water levels and such...

It isn't. Overall America has had a warm winter, just one month of cold weather, and worldwide we have had quite the warm spell :).
