It's my 3 year old granddaughter's eyes. It startled me this morning!!! Doesn't seem there's anything wrong with her, thought it was the lighting in the room. Will call my daughter, they just left.

Then you need to see an eye doctor, don't fool around with it.
It could be something simple or more drastic. There's a lot of things that can go wrong, like a detached retina or Iritis which has an underlying illness. Go and make an appointment.

Check again. Has it persisted? If it has happened recently it could be due to a severe head injury. Another possibility is a brain tumor. Sorry to worry you, probably unnecessarily, but if pupils remain unequal, she need to be checked out soon.

Certain eye drops will dilate or constrict the pupil. Did she get a decongestant spray in one eye?

A rare condition, present at birth is Horner syndrome. One pupil is smaller, the eyelid on that side droops, there is no sweating on that side of the face, and the eyeball may sink deeper into its socket.

I am sorry to have to inform you of this but what you describe is generally the symptom of a neurological disorder or trauma (fall with the head hitting an object). The patient should see his neurologist STAT who will probably order a tomography of the brain or a MRS.

This can be a benign condition of a familial type. If it was a symptom a severe brain lesion, other symptoms would be present.
